Feelin’ This: CupcakeStop
By Jenna Fain • May 22nd, 2009 • Category: Travel
New Yorkers, the summer looks sweetly promising. The first known gourmet cupcake shoppe on wheels has hit the city streets with a bang! CupcakeStop is the brilliant venture dreamed up by NYU Law School soon-to-be-grad, Lev Ekster, that brings the classic and easy-to-devour delectable snack to the masses.
In a bold move that works social media outlets to his advantage, Ekster has integrated a Twitter account that allows city movers and shakers to scout the truck’s location and stay updated on new flavors and news throughout the day.
I’m most excited to sample the Oreo Crumb and Peanut Butter & Jelly cupcakes. Lekster does not sacrifice quality ingredients for his on-the-go business. He is even considering exploring vegan options. In an admirable move, the unsold treats are donated to City Harvest to feed those who are less fortunate.
And who knows - maybe by this time next year, the Grammar Gods will officially coin the term, ‘cupcakerie!’
