Pingg Us Up
By Patrick S. Lee • Nov 5th, 2008 • Category: TrendsIn the Evite-dominated digital invite scene, Pingg has been garnering considerable buzz and deservedly so. Whether you’re throwing a birthday party, a reunion for old buddies or a corporate event, having a versatile invite website by your side is crucial. Pingg combines stylish design and intuitive functionality on par with the high standards set by creative junkies and jet-setting professionals. Here’s a closer look at Pingg:
Highlights:
Pingg has a simple, aesthetically soft interface that makes navigating the site a breeze. When composing an invite, the entire process is organized under collapsible sections, making it easier to edit details of your event.

In terms of design customizability, users have the option of selecting from the beautifully curated archives, premium images, and of course, your personal images – the latter, ideal for personal get-togethers and professional events.

Reaching out to people has never been so simple. While there are numerous invite functions embedded within social networks and e-mail sites, not many sites extend well to individuals not participating in those respective services. Pingg can import your contacts from an array of websites (i.e. Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, Evite) and send out invitations in a variety of options, whether it’s e-mail, social networks (i.e., Facebook, Twitter), text and even print – stamp and mail to boot – for a fee.

The management tools are also super useful. Under one section, you can send out reminders to those last-minutes individuals, get a clear headcount, and automatically set a send date for your “thank you” notes.

The Final Word:
With a touch of class, Pingg has effectively addressed two of our biggest grievances: waving goodbye to the days of laughable clip art and RSVP-related headaches. For the longest time, Evite has dominated the digital invite scene, but mostly because we lacked a better alternative. Now Pingg is giving Evite a run for its money. Like any successful Web 2.0 venture, Pingg is all about good taste, efficiency, and usability. So if you haven’t looked into this creative game-changer yet, it’s about time you give it a Pingg.
